Painting is usually about surface. My work is about structure. I cast, layer and assemble paint, testing its capacity to support itself and the limits of what it can do. The process is repetitive, but the results are unpredictable. Variations in tension, weight, and curing affect the character of each element.   

The resulting freestanding forms and constructed compositions have an intensely tactile quality. Their solid, textured surfaces provoke an almost irresistible urge to touch, drawing attention to the material itself. Yet at their core, these works remain paintings.

Grounded in material science, my studio practice operates as a site of systematic experimentation. I evaluate how paint behaves under physical stress, how it cures across varying thicknesses, and how far it can be pushed before it slumps or breaks. From intimate hand-held studies to larger installations, I am interested in the moment paint stops behaving like paint and becomes something else entirely.
